| At the beginning of the Spring Term 2001, school nurses
working for the Eastern Hull Primary Care Trust approached the Bransholme
and District Area Education Action Zone in Hull with a request to help
produce health education materials for boys beginning life in the
secondary schools.
It was felt that there was plenty of material available to help girls through adolescence, growing up, puberty and the associated problems, but there was very little available material for boys. Would it be possible for a partnership of the Education Action Zone, The Eastern Hull Primary Care Trust and the Hull and East Riding Health Action Zone to produce something for these boys? The answer to the question was YES! Boyz Stuff, a booklet written by 12 year old boys, for 12 year old boys. |
