The Team

In March of 2001 a small team was assembled, to produce a publication which would be helpful to boys beginning life in their new secondary school. At this stage nobody new what the publication would look like, or its contents.

Over a period of two or three months, working one evening a week the team drew together their ideas and produced,

 'Boyz Stuff - a Guide to growing up.'

The content was written by Year 7 boys from Kingswood High School in Hull as a result of their discussions with the school nurses and their teachers. The booklet truly reflects the concerns and thoughts of this group of boys.

Everyone involved in the project became personally involved with the issues raised and the group grew closer as the project moved on. People learned to be sensitive and trusting of each other and developed real empathy and an understanding of issues from different perspectives. It truly was a learning experience for all concerned.

The team of boys, Thomas, Michael and John were assisted by Sue and Yvonne, the school nurses, Kate, the form tutor and Chris, from the EAZ, who assisted with ICT and publishing.
