Introduction

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

"You will leave home and arrive at the base for this year’s Summer School, where, just like Harry Potter, you will be rather confused and even a little lonely.

But… the excitement mounts as other prospective witches and wizards arrive at the school. Who will you be with? Which professor will you work with? Who will be your new friends? Will you miss your mum?

The moment of truth arrives…

The introduction of the sorting hat.

You will take your turn to walk to the front of the group, put on the sorting hat and await your fate. The hat will decide your group for the next four days.

When you are in your house groups the introduction to wizardry and witchcraft will be explained to you. Where you will go, with whom and when, will all become apparent.

An early lunch to settle your tummy and then the real fun begins.

Professor Dumbledore will demonstrate the type of magic humans cannot perform. You will then go into the first Magic Master Class to learn your first spells and potions.

You will leave home early the following day in order to travel to the magical and mysterious ‘Hogworts Express.’ Further mystery and magic awaits, as the party of young wizards and witches make their way through the ‘Forbidden Forest.’ What will be seen? Who knows?

During the remaining days at the school for wizards and witches you will perfect your spells, learn to perform and retell stories, write articles for the ‘Daily Prophet’ and perhaps appear on ‘It’s a kind of magic’, the radio show for magicians everywhere.

The school will close for the end of term when parents and friends will come and witness your first public performance of your new magical skills."
