The 'Sorting Hat' comes to Hogwart's |

| First of all we had to sit in a circle. I'll bet everyone
was feeling nervous like me. When Mrs. Smith called out our names we had
to walk out, sit on the stool in the centre of the circle and put on the
large wizard's hat. The hat was blue with orange stars on it.
It was called 'The Sorting Hat'. The hat told us which house we were going to be in, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. After we had been sorted into our groups Mrs. Smith read us part of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', the part were Harry was sorted. He was sorted into Gryffindor. I was also put into Gryffindor but my friend was put into Ravenclaw. Report by Ben Wardell

The magic of the 'Sorting Hat' involved the clever use of batteries, wires, a small speaker and some electronic wizardry on the part of the teaching team.
