Making 'The Cygnet'

On Thursday 27th July Andrew White, a design engineer from BAE Systems gave us a masterclass on the theory of flight.

He then gave us the design for a small rubber powered aircraft called 'The Cygnet.'

The plane was made from balsa wood, insulating foam, mapping pins, a rubber band and a plastic propeller.

These are the insulating foam parts of 'The Cygnet'

We were given the materials and a set of instructions to make 'The Cygnet.' This challenge was completed sucessfully by most people with only a little bit of help from the adult helpers ( in some cases they were more of a hinderence.)
