Day 1, Wednesday 26th July

On the 26th of July, 36 children from years 6 and 7 representing each of the schools within the E.A.Z began another exciting Gifted and Talented Summer School, again using the facilities at Sutton Park Primary School. These children will have their talents and abilities stretched and their aspirations raised by the intensive and exciting program offered during the next 10 days.

6-10 staff will be working with the children and outside experts will be brought in to give masterclasses. Stuart Markham from the Hull Daily Mail gave an exciting talk on journalistic reports. John Fewings also gave an inspirational talk on memory skills.

The children also tackled circus skills after their lunch. It turned out to be better to do plate spinning after lunch than during as who knows were the salad would have ended up. The company that demonstrated the skills was Trixx.

The children had great fun and are looking forward to the challenges of the next 9 days.
