John Fewings, the Memory Man

On the first afternoon of the Summer chool, John Fewings came in and gave us a few lessons on learning styles and memory techniques. We had a laugh that afternoon from the activities we did. He was very good with us and sometimes he laughed even when there was nothing to laugh about. Everyone liked him for his funnyness. He did things with us which helped us to remember twenty parts of our body. We had to clap, pat and nod parts of our body. We also did activaties like learning numbers in Japanese. We learnt numbers that have rhymes and connentions. The aim of all of these activities was to improve our study skills. We tried to improve our memories by using associations.
