Daily Diary by Katie Day 5, Tuesday 1st August Dear Diary, Today we had a bit of excitement when we visited the Hull Daily Mail offices at Blundell's Corner in the centre of town.
Our visit included a tour of the offices where the reporters work, a look in the photographers darkroom, a quick dash into the noisy print hall and a quite chat about Hull Daily Mail's website - www.thisishull.co.uk. When we went into the print hall we had to wear ear plugs and funny plastic slippers on our feet so we wouldn't get ink on our shoes. We had a look at how the papers were produced and what main colours were used (the main colours are Magenta, Cyan, Yellow and Black). We looked at some dark prints of part of a newspaper. We found out that to make a newspaper you have to have four dark prints (one for each of the colours) to actually make a newspaper. After lunch we started to make some more of our website, doing diarys photographs and loads more. |
