MY DAY AT DUXFORD
| Today we had to be at the school 2 hours earlier than normal so we could go to RAF Duxford down south near Cambridge. We eventually got on the coach half an hour later so everyone who was late got the chance to go. On the coach we only stopped once and 6 of us played Cluedo and I won. When we got there, we went to the control tower to go on a deHavilland Dragon Rapide. We went up in our groups and it was a breath taking experience. |

We
then went into Hangar 3 and saw loads of aircraft. Then
when we then went into Hanger 2 we saw even bigger planes. In Hangar 1 was a Concorde which has enough wire in it to cover 200 miles. Then we went on a mini train to the Land Warfare Hall which had tanks and jeeps. In the American hangar there where planes hanging from the roof and a really big B52 superfortress plane. |
| After that we went in Hanger 5 where they restore old planes and take them all to bits. We had a look in the wartime Operations Room which was just as they left it after the war. Finally went in Hanger 4 which I think was the best one of all. After that we went back to the coach for a long trip home again. |
