Daily Diary. Tuesday 3rd August.

Today we went to the Hull Daily Mail

Our tour guide was called Carol. First of all we went to the reception. Carol explained to us what they did in the reception. After that we went to the Hull Daily Mail's own mail room. The tour continued with a look around the photograph archive section, the advertising section, area where the reporters work and where people put the news onto computers. Carol then explained how the printing presses worked.

.

After that she took us to the door that leads you into the papers printing room. Before we went in she told us a few do's and don't's then she gave us two blue shoe coverings so we don't trail ink every were , and she also gave us some earplugs because of the noise. when we got in there the noise was so powerful it would still be just as loud without your earplugs.

The printing room was full of high speed machinery, with large rolls of paper whizzing through rolls and rolls of paper producing the Hull daily mail and our daily diarys.
