| Monday 26th July Daily Diary The first day of summer school started with John Fewings talking about memory skills and different intelligences. After that he showed us a very clever technique which enabled us to remember lots of different things. The lesson we enjoyed the most was the circus skills in the lunch hour. There were lots of different things to try, including plate spinning, devil sticks and juggling with balls, scarves, etc. We were quite good at the plate spinning and juggling with scarves, but not much else! Juggling with the scarves was easy, we only had to throw and catch the three scarves,(which were blue, yellow and red, each one a different colour), in a pattern and keep on repeating the pattern:red, yellow, blue; red, yellow, blue; red, yellow, blue. When we first heared that we would be doing circus skills we thought we would be walking the tight rope or something; but it turned out to be something a lot easier than that, thank goodness! In the afternoon a man from the Hull Daily Mail called Stewart came to talk to us and show us how to make a proper newspaper article. |
