Awards Evening
Monday 13th May saw Winifred Holtby School host an
awards evening for students attending the Children's University Module
'Power of the Elements'

| Students made finishing touches to work on fireworks just prior to the
arrival of parents and guests. Work was displayed on the walls and on
the big screen where the web site was shown for the first time.
Parents, students, mentors, teachers and guests crowded into the
Lecture Theatre for the culmination of this very exciting Children's
University module. Extra chairs needed to be brought in to accommodate
the demand from parents and family. |

| John Buttrick, the city manager for Children's University attended the
evening and kindly presented certificates to the mentors and students.
Mr Buttrick spoke about the tremendous commitment shown by students,
parents and mentors during the previous five weeks and praised the work
done by the young people. He told the audience that they had
demonstrated all that was good in our learning partnership and hoped
they would go on to successfully use their particular talents. |
