OUR EXCITING TEN DAYS.

On the first Friday John Fewings came in to teach us an easy memory technique. In this technique we had to memorise a list of 20 items. We had to associate each item with a specific part of the body, then we had to think of an action, using the right part of the body to represent the item.
When we drew our first car designs we were at Winifred Holtby and did not know exactly what we had to do but we all had a go.All the cars were different both in shape and colour. Two members of our team were not there that day but the ones that were there all enjoyed the new and exciting challenge.

On the very first Monday we talked to our sponsors (the Hull Daily Mail) and agreed on what colour scheme we were going to have. The colours we decided on were red, yellow and black. The other car would be red, navy blue and light blue. Also we decided which logos we were going to use and where they were going to go.

We designed our F1 car on Pro-desktop, which everyone agreed was the best design we had seen and it was worked on by Nichola Brooks. (a member of our team). The car at first had a flat front then we decided to make it pointed because we all believed it would make the car better.

When the car design had been saved on disk, sent to Winifred Holtby and made in their new amazing machine router. First we sanded down the cars then began to paint them in the agreed colours. Also we choose our drivers by testing their reaction time on the track. The two drivers are Stefan and Nichola, Stefan is the A driver and Nichola is the B driver.

We had the Friday off and went to Donington on the Sunday to experience real life racing. We also went to see how the same cars changed their colours and logos over the years with the different sponsors. We could also see what stayed the same. We learned it was not necessarily the car design but the driver that was more important because most of the cars were near enough the same but they only won because the driver was better.

During our dinner times we had three sessions of circus skills, which most people enjoyed. Everyone learned some thing new and was very proud to show everybody at the end of the last session. In the first session we had two very experienced men but in the second session we had one of the men and a woman.

We created a website to promote our sponsors and our car. It took quite a long time to do but we kept it very simple with not too many links. Everybody made at least one web page, most people made two.

We made alot of accessories to promote the cars. We made letterheads, business cards, envelopes, lots of pictures and we made a uniform. Also we made a brochure all about the cars.
We created a display with all the work we had done and all the designs of the cars. The display was mainly done by Rebecca and Michael, who worked very hard to fit everything on and making it look neat.
We have invited our parents to come and look at all the work we have done and to watch the racing and see which car wins. Also there will be a buffet set out for people to eat.
