On Friday morning John Fewings (the memory man) came in to help us improve our memory skills.
Firstly, he showed us how good our memory skills are by playing a game with us. He put several animals on a projector and kept adding two on each time.
Then, we had to guess which he had included. After that, John remembered pi to a hundred decimal places (WOW)!
When he had performed this incredible act he taught us the memory technique he had used. What we had to do was to think of a list of twenty different nouns. He taught us how to put each noun to a different part of the body.
Here is an example: number four was a horse, the action was putting four fingers on to your left shoulder with your right hand, (this represents the horses four legs.) We did this wit h great success and we can still remember them today:
| 1. Harry Potter book | 2.Chocolate bar | 3.Penguin | 4.Horse | 5.Rabbit |
| 6.Teacher with red shirt on | 7.Ostritch | 8.Benji the alsatian | 9.Football | 10.Pool table |
| 11.Yorkshire Pudding | 12.half-mast trousers | 13.Pencil | 14. Jaguar Blue | 15.Birthday card |
| 16.Yamaha R1 Blue & Yellow | 17.Ice-cream | 18.Speed-boat | 19.BMX | 20.Playstation |
We thought John was really cool! Quotes from people " The memory technique he used was very good, it worked very wellvery funny!" Miss Griffiths replied. Joanne Bennett said: "Quite funny & an easy . He was also way to learnanswered " He was very funny. "Mr. Pinchbeck said" He was very entertaining & ." Chloe Gibson funny. "
Soon later, we learnt how to count in Japanese:
| 1.ichi | 2.ni | 3.san | 4.shi | 5.go |
| 6.roku | 7.shichi | 8.hachi | 9.kyuu | 10.jyuu |
