John Fewings

The Memory Man

On our first day at summer school, we were with a man called John Fewings. We called him "The Memory Man " because he could remember a list of 100 things or more!

First he did this amazing thing. He remembered pi to one hundred places by memory! Using "Body Pegs"

We then composed a shopping list, and learned actions to them. We allocated each of the items a part of the body in order (e.g. 1.Harry Potter Book was the tip of our index finger on our left hand.)

He then turned the sheet of paper over and we recited all the twenty things off by heart! He could then pick a number and we'd tell him the word associated, or he'd say the word and we'd know the number!

So it really works! and it will help us in tests and doing the shopping for our parents. I wonder if there is a technique to remember the technique....
