Winifred Holtby Visits

The first afternoon we went to Winifred Holtby School and had a go on the race track. We also did some designs for the car on the drawing tables in E6. We also went into E5 to see how much drag thrust and lift two cars had that had already been made had using a wind tunnel. We went into the resource area and went on the computers and changed the colours of existing designs.

The second time we went was the second Monday of the summer school and we had to meet up there. During the day we finished making our cars, tested all our reaction times and decided who were the two drivers. We also decided what car would be our Class A and Class B cars. Besides all this we practised our painting skills. Here are some photographs showing what we did.

Here we are in E6 using the drawing tables to produce some designs.   We moved into the workshop to practise our painting skills and work out how we were going to paint our car.

Here is Martin drilling the holes in our car to hold the wheel axles.   We tested our reaction times to see who would be our drivers. Kayleigh and Martin got the best reaction times on the day!

We also tested our cars on the track to see which went the fastest.
